In the winter semester 2001/2002 I will give a course on
Deterministic chaos and nonequilibrium statistical
mechanics
at the TU Dresden focused onto the following subjects
-
basics of dynamical systems theory: chaotic, fractal, ergodic
properties
-
transport theory: random walks, nonequlibrium steady states,
transport equations, transport coefficients
-
chaotic transport: drift, diffusion, fractal stuctures in
nonequilibrium, chaotic maps, particle billiards, dissipative systems
Level of the lecture, material covered, and language (German/English) will
be determined on the first day according to the preknowledge of the audience;
