Simple instructions for using data projector
Starting a presentation
(1). Boot up your laptop.
(2). Move zoom lever on projector lens to centred position and
remove lens cap
(3). Plug power supply lead into three pronged hole on side of projector
(see middle image on left)
and switch power on
at the wall.
(4). Press the red `Power' button once (see top image on left).
The projector should start up and begin projecting an internally stored slide
show.
(5). Plug the data cable (faun coloured) into the back of the laptop, and into
the socket labelled `Computer/Component Video' on the back of the projector
(see bottom image).
(6). Press the button labelled `Source' on top of the projector
(see top image on left). The screen will probably turn blue at this stage.
(7). To direct signal from laptop to the projector you will probably
need to press the `Fn' and `f8' keys on the laptop simultaneously. You
may need to do this a couple of times. If this does not work then try
`Fn' and `f5' simultaneously.
(8). Your computer display should now be projecting on the screen...
Switching the projector off
This is the most important bit. Please do not just pull the power plug out
of the projector when you have finished as this may damage it.
Follow these instructions instead:
(1). Press the red `Power' button once, and then once again.
The green light on the top of the projector should now start blinking orange.
(2). The orange light will blink for a minute or two, and during this time
you can close down the laptop and unplug the data cable.
(3). When the orange light begins to shine constantly, it is safe
to unplug the projector from the power supply.
