Post-doctoral position in gravitation theory
at the University of Maryland


The Maryland Gravitation Theory Group announces an opening for a
postdoctoral position in gravitation theory, starting in the Fall of
2009.  The position is for one year, with renewal for a second year
expected depending on the continuation of funding and satisfactory
progress.

The research areas for this position include, but are not limited to,
black hole thermodynamics, quantum field theory in curved spacetime,
phenomenology of modified gravity theories, and quantum gravity.

The Maryland Gravitation Theory Group currently consists of Professors
Dieter Brill, Alessandra Buonanno, Bei-Lok Hu, Ted Jacobson
Charlie Misner (Emeritus), and Manuel Tiglio, and is part of the
Maryland Center for Fundamental Physics, which also includes
particle and nuclear theory groups. The group web page is

Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, list of publications, and
descriptions of past research and future research ideas, and arrange
for at least three letters of recommendation to be sent to
