This is a simple LaTeX package for drawing abacus diagrams, using the graphical power of PGF/Tikz, but with very economical syntax. It's not very polished, and doesn't have (m)any fancy features, but you might find it useful.
The package is distributed under the LaTeX Project Public Licence.
