Quantum Algebras at QMUL

We have an active research group here at Queen Mary typically consisting of faculty, students and postdocs working on `quantum algebras’ understood rather broadly. This includes: quantum groups, noncommutative geometry, algebraic geometry, higher categories, algebraic model theory, representation theory, quantum computing  and quantum gravity. There are also separate algebra, geometry, combinatorics and applied groups in the department in which members also take part.

Faculty:   S. Majid (organiser), B. Noohi, I. Tomasic, A. Fink, G. Bianconi, S. Ramgoolam (Physics)

Postdocs: X. Han

Students: E. Lira Torres, C. Liu, F.C. Simao, L. McCormack

Networks: COST Action (CaLISTA): Cartan geometry, Lie, Integrable Systems, quantum group Theories for applications

EU COST Network: QSPACE

We have a regular seminar and occasional workshops and minicourses. If you think you might be interested in joining our group then please contact one of us. To be a PhD student you will also need to apply via forms on the maths department website, the deadline is usually around the end of January to apply for a studentship, less restrictive if you have external funds. To be a postdoc we are happy to be host for applications for external fellowships such as EPSRC and EU Marie Curie ones by strong candidates.
