Feature in Faces of Mathematics, an Exhibition by the photographer Mark Atkins
Back in 1998 I was interviewed in the wood-panelled old parlor of Pembroke College for an exhibition of portraits of leading UK mathematicians called `Faces of Mathematics’ being put together by the photographer Mark Atkins with mathematician Nick Gilbert as coordinator. This duly appeared, being first exhibited at the Oxford University Museum of Natural History. It has travelled widely since then and is catalogued on the web, click the image above and then click on one of the portraits. It never did make it to the National Portrait Gallery, so far at any rate. The idea is to make mathematics a bit more human, which I applaud, click on the research statements associated with each portrait for further insights.
