Abstract:
The Generalized Characteristic Function Method (GCFM) is introduced
to describe deterministic diffusion in nonlinear maps. It provides all
information about the diffusion process and, in particular, allows
to calculate the diffusion coefficient. To the end, a noise-dependent theory,
based on the GCFM, will be outlined briefly.
