A friendly introduction to
Experimental Mathematics
With the aid of computers, mathematical experimentation
is undergoing an unprecedented development, which is
defining new ways of doing mathematical research.
This course is intended to give pre-university students
a taste of this exciting new trend.
Using state of the art computer algebra software,
the students will be invited to explore some mathematical
phenomena, to make a synthesis of the results, and to
formulate precise conjectures.
No previous computing experience is necessary.
