I am a Professor of Applied Mathematics in the School of Mathematical Sciences
at Queen Mary, University of London.

My research interests are in Nonlinear Dynamics, Data Science, Stochastic Processes, and Statistical Physics, including mathematical modelling of complex systems and interdisciplinary applications.
Recent highlights of my research include understanding the frequency dynamics of
power grids, and stochastic analysis of air pollution time series.
An older paper: Proposal for new experimental method to search for (axionic) dark matter.

I am Head of the Dynamical Systems and Statistical Physics Group at Queen Mary.
I am also Chair of the Statistical and Nonlinear Physics Division of the European Physical Society (EPS).
From 1 Oct 2021 onwards I will be an Alan Turing Fellow.
I am also a Fellow of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications.
I am a Co-Editor of Europhysics Letters (EPL), and an Advisory Editor of Physica A.
