The School of Mathematical Sciences has a very strong and active research record and high educational standards for its undergraduate and postgraduate students. The 50+ academic staff, 850 undergraduate students together with the support staff and postdoctoral assistants and postgraduate students make up a vibrant multicultural environment. The School offers energetic and diverse activity in astronomy, statistics, pure and applied mathematics.

The post-holder will oversee the IT support for the School and will play a key role in developing IT related strategy in support of staff activities in teaching, research, administration and management, and will be involved in IT systems analysis and advising on School development projects.

This is a demanding role requiring a high level of combined technical and managerial expertise. It also requires a good understanding and appreciation of the multi-faceted IT demands of a large and busy University department.

This is a full-time, permanent post and is available immediately. Salary is on a Professional Grade 6 on the Queen Mary grading structure, starting at £41,654 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, final salary pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
