Dimensions: a mathematical DVD by Leys, Ghys and Alvarez

Computer graphics enable effective visualisation of objects in 3 and 4 dimensions. I will show material from this recent DVD by Etienne Ghys and his colleagues at the Ecole Normale Superieure de Lyon, concerned with the visualisation of 4-dimensional polytopes and the Hopf fibration, and also with conformal mappings and Julia sets. If time permits I shall also show excerpts from the classic 1995 video by Adrien Douady, Francois Tisseyre and Dan Sorenson, "La Dynamique du Lapin".
