Schur function expansions, Selberg integrals and eigenvalue distributions

The density of eigenvalue distribution for random matrices can often
be related to moments of characteristic polynomials leading to matrix
integrals over U(n) and O(n). As I will explain, some of these
integrals can be evaluated via Schur functions expansions and Selberg
integrals. Others pose challenging mathematical problems that I hope
might be interesting for algebraists or combinatorialists  to try to
solve. (That's the hidden agenda of my talk.)
