The main source of complex manifolds come from algebraic geometry, such manifolds appear as solutions to systems of polynomials equations with complex coefficients. Polyhedral Kahler manifolds are, in contrast, complex manifolds that are defined without using algebra, the are glued from a collection of Euclidean simplexes in a specific way. In the talk I will give an overview of results on these manifolds in particular in relation to extremal line arrangements and to Frenkel's conjecture.
