Welcome to the Pure Mathematics pages at Queen Mary, University of London.

The Pure Mathematics group, part of the Mathematics Research Centre (MRC) at QMUL, embraces research and postgraduate teaching in Algebra, Combinatorics, Analysis, Geometry, Topology, Logic, and Probability. This page will direct you to information about our research, seminars, publications, and how to apply for postgraduate study here.

In the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise, we entered 20 research-active staff. 60% of our research activity was judged to be either world-leading or internationally excellent, and we received an average score (on a scale 0–4) of 2.70, placing us just about in the top third of UK Pure Mathematics groups who made submissions to the assessment.

News

We welcome Dr Konstantin Ardakov, Dr David Ellis and Dr Behrang Noohi to the School of Mathematical Sciences at Queen Mary and to the Pure Mathematics group.

The 65th birthday of Professor Cho-Ho Chu will be celebrated by a conference on Jordan Theory, Analysis and Related Topics in Hong Kong, from 30 April to 4 May 2012. Details are available from the Web page.
