Postdoctoral opportunities

The School of Mathematical Sciences at Queen Mary, one of Britain's top research institutions, consists of about 40 members of staff. In the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise, more than 50% of our research activity was judged to be either world-leading or internationally excellent.

The School strongly encourages applications for postdoctoral positions and postdoctoral fellowships from high quality mathematicians. Where postdoctoral vacancies already exist for specific projects these will be advertised on the list below. Otherwise please contact our Director of Research, Professor Mark Jerrum, or members of our academic staff working in your subject area, so as to explore what opportunities may be available to you. In some cases a member of staff may be willing to apply for a grant to fund a postdoc or a visiting researcher (both the EU and EPSRC fund these among other sources).

Alternatively there are a number of external bodies that can give postdoctoral or visiting fellowships for which the postdoc applies or applies in conjunction with the host institution.
