Undergraduate study
The School of Mathematical Sciences is involved in teaching a total of 12 different undergraduate degree programmes. We currently have about 800 undergraduate students in the School of Mathematical Sciences. We have over 45 full-time staff involved in undergraduate teaching, and approximately 25 postdoctoral research staff and 50 postgraduate research students who provide additional undergraduate teaching assistance.
We offer eight three-year BSc programmes and two four-year MSci programmes. We also teach modules for a joint BSc programme with Computer Science and a joint BScEcon programme with Economics.
An MSci degree is comparable to a three-year BSc followed by a one-year MSc, but an MSci is a single integrated four-year course for which the fees and funding are the same as for a BSc. (MSci is pronounced "em-sigh".)
