Each year we offer a whole host of events and activities for maths students and teachers alike.
You can find a summary of these below, or get in touch with us for more information via firstname.lastname@example.org.
Year 11 Maths Summer Schools - NEW
We are happy to announce two Year 11 Maths Summer Schools, new for this year! Taking place in July, the Summer Schools are designed for students with an interest in Maths and will give a taster of what university life is like at QMUL, as well the opportunity to take part in a mini-project to develop your understanding of Maths and its uses. For futher information and to apply for a free place, please click here.
Year 12 Maths Taster Days
Every year we offer several Maths Taster Days for A Level students (or equivalent) alongside other University of London institutions. These are a great opportunity to ‘try out’ a maths degree and get a better idea of what life as a maths student might be like before applying! Applications for our April & July dates are open via the University of London website. In 2017 we will host the following Taster Days (click the links below for more information & to apply):
Royal Institution Masterclasses
We host several series of Maths Masterclasses on our campus each year, in collaboration with the RI. Typically we offer two Year 9 series in the Autumn and Spring terms, with a further series for Year 12 students in the Spring.
Year 10 Enrichment Days
Our Year 10 Enrichment Days are organised in collaboration with the Further Mathematics Support Programme (FMSP). These highly interactive events include workshops, talks and tours of our campus and are designed to engage and encourage students to continue studying mathematics at A Level and beyond. You can find out more about the FMSP on their website.
Sonya Kovalevsky Maths Day
Tuesday 7th March 2017
To celebrate International Women's Day we are hosting a series of Maths and STEM events for students. The Sonya Kovalevsky Day is an enrichment event designed to inspire Year 12 girls, giving them insight into mathematics at university and beyond and the huge range of opportunities out there. It will be packed with engaging speakers and workshops across a variety of mathematical topics.
Students will need to apply individually for a free place on our Sonya Kovalevsky Day. They will need to provide the name of a teacher to support their application. We will be in touch shortly after receiving completed applications to confirm places.
More information about the day and about International Women's Week is available on our website.
Applications for this event are now closed - we hope to support similar events in the future.
Workshops, talks and campus visits
We are able to offer a limited number of workshops and talks either in school or on our campus, for school groups of GCSE and A Level students. If you're a Secondary Maths Teacher or HE Co-ordinator please get in touch for more information, by emailing email@example.com.
