We are delighted that this year the School of Mathematical Sciences is hosting its first Year 11 Maths Summer Schools.
Summer Schools give students a valuable opportunity to familiarise themselves with a university campus, gain a more in-depth understanding of a subject they enjoy studying and meet new friends.
The students' introduction to university life will include the chance to discover some new areas of mathematics, complete problem-solving tasks and mini-research projects to develop their understanding of university-style learning and teaching.
Also included in the programme is information and guidance on topics including choosing the right university course, the application process and careers for maths graduates as well as time spent socialising with new friends and getting to grips with the non-academic side of student life!
Applications for the Summer Schools are now open - further information and an application form can be found on our website:
Our aim is for students to have an enjoyable and rewarding introduction to life at QMUL and leave with a better understanding of university and the knowledge to approach their next steps with confidence.
The Year 11 Maths Summer Schools initiative is one of the School of Mathematical Sciences' range of outreach activities designed for students who have the potential and ability to progress to university. To find out more about the work we do, please click here.
