"Groups, Dynamics, and Operator Algebras" conference at QMUL - 18 July 2016 to 22 July 2016

Groups and dynamics have played an integral role in the study of operator algebras ever since the pioneering work of Murray and von Neumann. Over the last couple of decades this relationship has been intensifying in various directions on both the von Neumann algebra and C*-algebra sides. This conference promotes interaction and collaboration within and across these streams by bringing together experts in groups, dynamics, and diverse facets of operator algebra theory.

Speaking at the conference will be the following:

Cho-Ho Chu (London)

Joachim Cuntz (Muenster)

Søren Eilers (Copenhagen)

George Elliott (Toronto)

Adrian Ioana (UC San Diego)

Elias Katsoulis (East Carolina)

Matthew Kennedy (Waterloo)

Volodymyr Nekrashevych (Texas A&M)

Piotr Nowak (Warsaw)

Ian Putnam (Victoria)

Jean Renault (Orleans)

Mikael Rordam (Copenhagen)
