International Women's Week

Tuesday 7th March - Thursday 9th March 2017

The School of Mathematical Sciences at Queen Mary University of London is proud to be supporting a series of events to celebrate International Women's Week.

Through these events, we aim to help address barriers to female participation in mathematics and create opportunities for girls and women to learn, network and share their ideas

Each of the events is designed for those at different stages in their education or academic career but share the common aim of inspiring female mathematicians to be active and successful in the field.

Sonya Kovalevsky Maths Day
Tuesday 7th March
An enrichment event for Year 12 girls to become inspired about the study of mathematics at university and career opportunities available to mathematics graduates.

WISE International Women’s Day Celebration
Wednesday 8th March
An event to inspire those in the early stages of their career in academic STEMM subjects and enable discussion on making positive change within academia.

Women Count.
Thursday 9th March
A one-day conference for undergraduate and postgraduate students focussing on opportunities in mathematics and providing guidance around pursuing an academic career.
