|Jan E. Grabowski|
I am now Research Fellow and Tutor in Mathematics at Keble College, Oxford. I have a webpage at Oxford, based at http://www.maths.ox.ac.uk/~grabowsk/, which contains much more information about me and my research.
Note: (11/12/05) This page will no longer be updated and you are advised to see my Oxford pages for current information.
I have completed my PhD studies at the School of Mathematical Sciences, Queen Mary, University of London, under the supervision of Prof. Shahn Majid. I was part of the quantum groups and noncommutative geometry group, who have a regular seminar. My research is in the area of quantum algebra: for a layman's introduction to the quantum side of mathematics, see Shahn Majid's web pages on quantum geometry, quantum groups and the nature of physics and mathematics.
More specifically, I am currently working with quantized enveloping algebras, using induction based on the Dynkin diagram classification, having completed some corresponding work for Lie algebras. For an introduction, see my Ann Cook Prize entry. I have also done some work on the Fuss-Catalan algebras, a sequence of coloured generalisations of the Temperley-Lieb algebras.
